Daily Prompt:  One-Way Street  Congrats! You’re the owner of a new time machine.  The catch? It comes in two models, each traveling one way only: the past OR the future.  Which do you choose, and why?

I CHOOSE THE FUTURE

The future is the only thing that we can change. Right now, all we have is the tiniest slip of the iceberg that can either propel or sink us. The worry and anxiety of the unknown can weigh us down, and those thoughts can paralyze, but most of us really want to be able to approach the future stronger for the lessons that we have learned and make the best use of the experiences that we have accumulated over time.

Knowing that things don’t have to be the same as they have always been ~~~ and that you can see ahead to your successes, and joys, is a gift. Take a peek into the unknown; if you don’t like it, look at another time to come. See that you can survive it and that, in the end, it really will turn out alright.

That kind of future assurance of comfort, friendship and empathy makes the journey smoother, especially, when we get past the drama.

  1. LOVE your title! Perfect response to the prompt IMHO 🙂

  2. An apt title and an accurate account of the thought process. But don’t you think seeing the future kills the sense of adventure that life gives us?

    • You bring up an interesting point. Perhaps I am at a point in my life that knowing it all turns out well in the end for my family is on my mind a lot.

      • Concern for the family. One of the most basic things on our minds.

  3. I decided on the future too, mainly because I am nosy and want to know what it will be like 😉
