Depending on how you feel, today is another one of those nose against the window pane kind of days.  I am not against romantic gestures.  In fact, I swoon just like everyone else, and do get a little green with envy at times (I am empathetic but human).

Just like some other holidays on the calendar, it seems like many people are having a better time than some of us.  But, instead of isolating, what if we went all inclusive?  How about caring for ourselves for a change because we tend to care for others’ feelings more than our own?  Our sensitivity and empathy is how we express ourselves in the world, but it also means we feel more deeply and tend to obsess.

Find something that makes you feel good. Whether it is a fragrant cup of coffee, a good book you have been waiting to read, some chocolate or jewelry for yourself, or a walk in nature, it can be a day to restore and refresh your spirit.  Don’t berate yourself with would’ve, could’ve, should’ves or think that you are any “less” if you did not get a card or breakfast in bed today.

Know who you are, and be proud of what you have accomplished, and the introspection that makes you unique.
