Perhaps the most important thing we bring to another person is
the silence in us
not the sort of silence that is filled with unspoken
criticism or hard withdrawal.
The sort of silence that is a place of refuge,
of rest, of acceptance of someone as they are.
We are all hungry for this other silence.
It is hard to find. In its presence we can remember something beyond
the moment, a strength on which to build a life.
Silence is a place of great
power and healing.

This remarkable video came across my computer. As an Empathy Queen, I responded with smiles and tears. How few “thank yous” are warm and giving. They may be automatic, if given at all, but none like this. TD Bank in Canada shared an Automated Thanking Machine with their customers and went a step further to remind them that they are more than a number, they are special!

Watch the power of Empathy and Appreciation and how Thanks can change a life!

Airports are perhaps the least jolly of locales during the holiday season, generally filled with disgruntled people facing delays, lost luggage and other mishaps. But, thanks to WestJet, one gaggle of weary travelers was treated to a Christmas miracle that turned an airport into Santa’s workshop.

The Canadian airline, with the help of a virtual and tech-savvy Santa Claus, learned what passengers at the Toronto and Hamilton International Airports — who were waiting to board flights to Calgary — had on their Christmas wishlists this year. Once everyone boarded their planes, the WestJet team also took off — on shopping sprees, that is.
