It is so important to me to find and read of those inspiring individuals who achieved great success but also valued kindness.  Empathy and compassion never go out of style, we just need the courage to show it.

making a difference_buckminster fuller

If no one else tells you that you are important, if you are greeted by dull eyes and quiet stares, if you seek to improve yourself without outside validation, if you choose to create the best for others while they may not give it in return, you are indeed that one person who makes a difference towards change that matters in the world.

there comes a time to be happy

It is harder to tell ourselves the things we can rationally understand, but struggle to fulfill.  Yet, we would tell a friend that while we cannot avoid anxiety and stress, good times and bad, or unfulfilled dreams or relationships, there are no wrong answers or half packages.  One choice brings another, and another, and whatever happens, you can survive because you are stronger than the pain you have endured and committed to finding joy on your own terms.

Surround yourself with people and ideas that make you smile.  It takes strength and great amounts of energy to persevere despite it all.  But you can, one step at a time, whenever you feel ready to proceed.   You can do this.

cohen twins walking down the street

When it comes to sweet, it generally involves children or dessert.  Our families are important to us and building loyalty and responsibility for one another begins by being taught those values in the home from an early age.

My husband and I have loved this photo from the moment we saw it.  My twin grandsons, who were three years old at the time, were taking a walk down the street with their parents.  Sibling love and support, when it exists, is something I consider to be sweet and to be cherished.
