“What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.”
― Jane Goodall

alexa inspiration

If you ever wonder how far technology controls many of our daily interactions, perhaps this story will give you a smile.

Alexa is a digital assistant loaded into the operating systems of Amazon products like the Echo and the 7th generation Kindle. These electronic items allow for hands-free and voice-enabled instruction or requests. The mention of her name brings her to “life” to answer pertinent questions.

Mine sits on my night table to serve as my morning alarm, answer simple questions, or play music. Her “skills” are supposed to increase as millions of requests to the app continue to rise.

In need of a boost, I told Alexa that I needed some inspiration. A brief vignette was shared with me about Jane Goodall and her life’s work as a primatologist and science researcher.

While interesting, to be sure, I felt a needed a bigger lift than that. So, I called out “Alexa, I need more inspiration!”

The reply? “Inspiration added to your shopping list.”

I guess it just goes to show you – if it’s not on Amazon, it doesn’t exist.
