Our world does not acknowledge the beauty of solitude. We have many in silence, out of fear or shame, or those who have given up the joy of conversation for technology. But, in a world full of noise, literal and figurative, there is great healing in those quieter pastimes such as reading, meditating, art, or observing nature.

Our nervous systems were not created to be caught up in constant noise or upheaval. I find as I get older, that I require and look forward to such solitude. There is much to give to others, but recognizing and realizing the self-care we deserve, is a gift that no one can give us but ourselves.

It is a gift in gratitude and magnitude that we can appreciate the peaceful silence.

Thank you for stopping by!  I hope that you enjoy your visit.

November brings thoughts of Thanksgiving, cider, and warm thoughts as days darken and temperatures begin to drop (in the Northern hemisphere).

It is also a time of gratitude for the family joys and occasions that we share.  Between the merriment of costuming and manic preparation for Winter Solstice and holiday gift giving, it is important for me to surround myself with the peace of being, observing, and appreciating.

Some of the greatest transformation we can achieve begins on the inside; how our changed attitudes within bring us acceptance and compassion, we can express it to others in acts of kindness in word and deed.

As our world changes in its unfolding seasons and dramatic landscapes visually, I want to remember to seek out moments of restorative balance and contemplative continuity. Finding a moment for gratitude and thanks is my goal in the coming weeks that I hope will become habit.

Thank you for sharing this journey with me.

I hope that you enjoy your visit
